• Hadrian Primary School Awarded Inclusion Mark

  Hadrian Primary School is one of the few mainstream primary schools in the North of England to have the Inclusion Quality Mark and following successful reassessment, the school has again been successful in being recognised for the inclusive work they do. The school is also being put forward to become an ‘IQM Centre of Excellence’, to support and work alongside other schools.

   

  Educational inclusion is about equal opportunities for all pupils, whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, attainment or background.

   

  The assessment involved looking at all aspects of the way the school provides opportunities for and supports children to access the curriculum, as well as the work they do with parents and carers.

• Hadrian Primary Named in the Top 50 Schools Nationally for ICT

  In a special event held at the House of Lords, Hadrian Primary School was recognised as one of the top 50 schools in the EdTech 50 Schools Report for its use of education technology to support excellent teaching and enhance learning. 
  
  The report highlights digital flagship schools that demonstrate a focused sense of what is useful to them in terms of technology – whether it be in supporting teaching, cutting teacher workload, collaboration across staff teams or consolidating knowledge, enhancing creativity and broadening experiences across the curriculum. 
  
  As part of Hadrian’s application, they highlighted how technology can be used to give children a purpose for writing and show the children and teachers that their work does not just stop in the classroom, and that it can be seen all over the world. This gives children a purpose for writing and encourages the children to do their very best. Hadrian also discussed how technology is now an integral part of the classroom and how, through strategic planning - including careful consideration of infrastructure and staff training - they have developed a sustainable programme where iPads are used to support both teachers and pupils. Hadrian’s objective is to enhance, rather than to substitute, the traditional learning tools available to their staff and pupils, recognising the benefits that technology can add to existing, effective classroom practices and the transformational possibilities it can bring to the classroom.
