Maths
Class 7 enjoyed their work on Capacity.
Literacy
The children enjoyed exploring our school garden to use as a stimulus for a setting description.
PE
This term we will be swimming on a Tuesday morning. Please ensure that your child brings in their swimming kit. If they cannot go swimming you must send in a letter to explaining why.
We do PE on a Monday afternoon. Please ensure children have their full kit in school at the start of every half term and then at the end of term, take it home to be washed and returned the first day of a new term.
Homework
Homework is given out on every Thursday. Homework books must be returned no later than the following Tuesday.
Check the homework on a Thursday night and then if you have any problems, you can see me on a Friday and get help. Homework consists of Spellings, (which will be tested every Tuesday afternoon) times tables and My Maths plus one other piece of work.
'My Maths' must be done. If you do not have a computer, laptop or Tablet and have no access to the internet at home or cannot complete homework at home, then children they are welcome to go to homework club on Mondays and Thursdays after school and during Friday lunchtimes.
Reading Books
Children need to read 3 to 4 pages of a school reading book every night, which will enable them to get through a book a week. Children are asked to bring reading books into school every day even if they haven't finished it. Children who bring in reading books everyday will have more opportunities to read in school and change their books. Reading books can be changed if they are completed and it is signed by an adult with a comment to say they have heard the child read and asked them questions about their book.
Tables and Spellings
The children need to practice their number bonds (if they have not learned them), tables and spellings every night.
Library
Library is on a Thursday morning so make sure that the children bring their books. If they haven't finished their book they can still bring it in and I'll issue it for another week.
