Be Unique;Believe, Achieve, Succeed Together
We are delighted to welcome you and your child to our Nursery. This is the start of an exciting journey through school and we plan to have lots of fun and help your child learn many new skills during their time with us.
Our world has changed dramatically recently and we want to re-assure you that your child will be safe and happy in Nursery. When you visit us, you will be able to meet all the Nursery staff, your child's new friends and have a look at our exciting indoor and outdoor learning environments.
Mrs Whitehead and Mrs Patterson are the Nursery staff.
Nursery Times are:
(subject to change)
Morning session: 8.45 to 9am drop off. 11am - 11.15 pick up
Afternoon session: 12.45 to 1pm drop off. 3pm - 3.15 pick up
Sessions are currently shorter than usual, due to our thorough cleaning and sanitising regime before and after each Nursery session.
During drop off and pick up times, the Nursery gates will be open. Outside these times, the gates will be locked for the security of all our Early Years children. If you are unavoidably late, please 'phone school on 0191 4554514 to let us know. Please also let us know if your child is poorly, or if someone other than you will be collecting your child from Nursery.
In Nursery, we follow Early Years Development Matters. This divides Early Years learning into the following areas: Communication and Language; Personal, Social, Emotional Development; Physical Development; Mathematics; Literacy; Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
Forest School Approach
We are delighted to be continuing with Forest School approach this year. Outdoor learning is pivotal to early development and at Hadrian, we have a wonderful Nursery garden, in which our children learn and explore. We literally take our learning outside!
'It is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees'

Please ensure your child wears suitable clothing to Nursery. Uniform is not compulsory, but clothes should be easy for your child to manage when using the toilet and going outdoors. We'll let you know which day your child will be having Forest School and please make sure that they are dressed for all kinds of weather. Your child is going to get wet muddy and paint- smeared whilst at Nursery!
