Hello everyone, welcome to Class 3!
I am your teacher Miss Ridley and I am so excited to finally meet you all!
Normally we would have spent time in your new classroom before your first day in September but, as the world has changed recently, we have not had the chance to meet yet!
I know you may be feeling nervous, worried and anxious about starting big school for the first time but please don't worry! I will try my very best to make you feel relaxed and happy. I imagine lots of other children will be feeling the same way.
This is a very exciting year for you and your families, as this is your first year in school full time. You will grow and learn so much this year and I look forward to celebrating all of your achievements with you every step of the way!
Myself, Miss Bonar and Mrs Giles will always be available for you to speak to. We will also be available on a morning or at home time to address any parent concerns or queries.
I will update this page regularly and aim to keep you posted on all the events and learning that takes place!
Please take time to look at this page regularly for class information updates and to see the fun that we are having together.

Forest School Approach!
The children will take part in different Forest School learning experiences once a week! These sessions will often take place on a Wednesday but this may change.
We understand how valuable outdoor learning is and how this positively contributes to children's development. These experiences will allow children to investigate the world around them and become immersed in their immediate environment.
Please make sure your child has suitable footwear and clothing at school, as we will be going outdoors in all weathers.
All children will be given their homework books on a Thursday.
They must be returned to school by the following Tuesday!
We aim to change your child's reading book as frequently as possible.
We give all children a book we believe is not too easy nor too challenging, as we want reading to be enjoyable for all.
Please ensure you read with your child as often as you can and return their book to school regularly - it really does make a difference!
The children can also access books online.
Their individual logins will be provided.
All learning in Reception is based on the 7 curriculum areas stated in 'Development Matters'.
We carefully plan our continuous provision activities and focused lessons to ensure children are given varied, frequent opportunities to achieve their full potential.
All areas are interlinked through our holistic approach to learning.
