World Book Day 2022!

We have been writing informal letters as WW1 soldiers. We loved performing them using the green screen.

We love Reading for Pleasure.

The children asked for a club where they could relax and read at break times. We thought this was an amazing idea so we made it happen. Y6 reading for pleasure club is a big hit at Hadrian!

We have had so much fun writing our campfire stories, so we decided to have a spooky campfire night. We read our stories to each other, and discussed which ones were the scariest. We have had so much fun making even more amazing memories.

We are focusing on our Reading Skills in English. Today we pretended that we were in a campsite in the dark to set the atmosphere. We then had to listen for knocks (like Francis) and answer questions based around the text with the help of our torches.. We looked at inference, vocabulary, deductive, authorial and literal questions. We had so much fun!

In English we are learning about Spooky stories. We have been listening to a piece of music and we had to structure a story based around it. We loved this task and then we got to watch the film clip which matched. We had to use our reading skills to check that the story flowed.

We have been looking at the features of a spooky narrative.
