Learning about Road Safety

Julie and Laurie from the Road Safety team came in to Nursery to talk with us about crossing the road safely. We took turns to use the Pelican crossing, we pressed the button and waited for the little green man to light up so we could cross the road safely. We spoke about how important it is to hold an adult's hand when you cross the road and to always look left and right before we cross. We then learned about the important job a crossing patrol assistant does.

Living in our digital world

We have been exploring technology and the iPads this week. We were interested to see what skills the children already had. So we brought over the iPad trolley and each child was able to explore different apps and games. They were really impressive being able to use the touchscreen to interact with the apps, take photos and some videos too. Here at Hadrian Nursery, we aim to prepare our children for their future and an important part of this is developing their digital literacy. We have lots of exciting computing activities planned over this year! Here are some photos of us exploring the iPads and showing off our skills.

Autumn Treasure Hunt

We have been learning all about Autumn in nursery. As part of this, we went for a walk to the forest area in school to look for some Autumn treasures for our exploration area. We found lots of things, like crunchy leaves, sycamore seeds, pinecones and some apples too! The children used their good looking and listening on the walk and did so well!
