Y1 - Miss King

Welcome to Class 3!

We are a mixed Reception and Year 1 class. Miss Wilson teaches the Year 1 children and Miss Nixon teaches the Reception children with Class 2. You can check out receptions work over on Class 2’s page.

Here you will find lots of information about our class and important things to remember. You will also be able to find out about what we have been doing in lessons.

Miss Bonar, Mrs Giles and I will always be happy to support you with any aspect of your school experience. We will be available on a morning or at home time to address any parent concerns or queries. We will do everything we can to try to ensure that you have a fun and memorable year!

Please take time to look at this page regularly for class information updates and to see the fun that we are having together.

The Reception children will have a Baseline Assessment during the first six weeks of the term. For more information about this assessment please read the following Government guidance for parents.

Reading

Reading is very important and something that is encouraged at Hadrian. We will read lots of stories in class as they play a vital role in the growth and development of children. We hope that children will enjoy hearing stories being read to them and discussed at home too.

Please ensure you read with your child a much as possible. Children are asked to bring their reading books into school everyday. Children who bring in reading books everyday will have more opportunities to read in school and have their books changed.

The children can also access books online. Their individual logins will be provided.

Homework

Homework is given out on Thursdays. It must be returned no later than the following Tuesday.

If you need any help with your homework, ask Miss Wilson any time!

Tapestry!

We use the 'Tapestry' app to record observations of the children in Early Years. We add photographs, videos and comments about your child and what they have been learning at school. This is a lovely way for us to communicate with you as parents and you can also add photographs and comments about your child from home!

You will be sent an activation code via email to gain access to your child's account.

Please come and see me if you are having any issues with this.
