The Leaf Thief
Our focus story has been The Leaf Thief. This is a story all about a Red Squirrel who becomes very sad that the wind blows the leaves off his tree. At Nursery, the Squirrel gave us a counting challenge; he had managed to find some of the leaves that the wind had blown away but needed our help to count how many he had. The children were so excited to help him. This activity was important in supporting the children to develop confidence in counting objects one at a time to make sure they are accurate. They all did so well and the Squirrel was so pleased! Well done Nursery!
