Y3/4 Mr Webster

Welcome to Year 3/4!

Welcome to Year 3/4! We are finally out of lockdown (hopefully its the last!) and we have reached the summer term. Things are getting better every month and we will be back to normal very soon!

You all know how to use Google Classroom and many other features of your Google account. Remember to complete your daily Home Learning tasks and activities if you are working from home.

Finally, you can not bring in any equipment to school - we will provide you with all of the stationary you will need and a water bottle. You will not be allowed to bring any other items from home (such as pencil cases, etc).

PE - Keeping fit and active!

We have PE on Wednesday. The children can leave in their PE kits as PE is our last lesson of the day. Please make sure children have the correct PE kit and correct footwear they need to take part in their PE lessons.

Homework

Homework is given out every Thursday and must be completed by the following Tuesday. Homework will be set on Google Classroom for children to access at home, however, children will be given Homework and spelling books to keep at home to use for support when doing their homework.

Homework consists of Spellings and times tables (tested every Tuesday morning), My Maths, Reading Plus and Hit the Button. Due to the children not being able to take their reading books home every night, Reading Plus is a great online platform for children to read at home every night. They will be asked to read 5 books and complete a vocabulary quiz each week and this will be monitored at the end of each week. If children have no access to the internet at home or cannot complete homework at home, please speak to myself and I will do all I can to help!

Children will be given usernames and passwords for their Google Classroom account, My Maths, Reading Plus and Prodigy. All other homework will be set for children to complete on Google classroom.

Great Readers = Great Writers!

During the current climate, please ensure children bring their reading books into school on Mondays and then they will be changed and given back to them with a new reading book every Friday to read over the weekend, as books will need to quarantine at school for 72 hours. Children who read more become better writers, as well as, introducing themselves to many new ideas and a vast range of vocabulary. Ensure there is a signature/parent comment left in their reading records, so I know that children have been reading with an adult at home.
