Year 2 is a very important year for Class 6. They will be supported throughout the year in working towards their SATs and achieving their highest potential - it is extremely important that children are attending school everyday in order for them to do this.

Please find below information about our class and what we are taking part in throughout the year. This page will be kept updated with class news and achievements.

Homework

 

Children will be set homework on a Thursday to be complete by the following Tuesday

 

You will be able to find instructions in your child's Homework book to support them. 

 

Each child will also receive their log in for MyMaths. Children in Year 2 receive this every 2 weeks. There will be a sticker placed in their homework books to let you know they have a piece to complete. Please ensure the box is ticked in their book once they have complete the task.

Physical Education

 

This term, children in year 2 will be taking part in PE sessions on a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit on this day. 

 

Reading Books

 

We encourage children to bring in their reading books everyday, this enables children to take part in paired reading activities and change them when needed. We also ask parents to read with their child each night.

Basic Skills & Reflection Time

 

We have a commitment to Basic Skills in Year 2, everyday we plan for a range of activities to develop Numeracy and Literacy skills, aside from general Literacy and Numeracy lessons. This also includes our morning spelling sessions that follow on from your child's previous phonic sessions. We are also use games to develop maths skills in the afternoon.
