Welcome to Reception - 2JD!
Welcome to Mrs Donnelly's class with Mrs Waters, Mrs Noble and Miss Andreson supporting us. Our curriculum is a balance between child initiated and teacher led activities. We learn both indoors and outdoors.
Our topic this term is where we live. We have been looking at places in South Shields and talking about our homes. We also follow the children's interests as we work alongside them. This term pirates are very popular !
In Phonics we are learning letter sounds and names. We are blending letters together to read and write words. We are encouaging the children to be confident writers and form sentences independently.
In Numeracy we are working on numbers to 20. We are solving addition and subtraction problems. We will shortly be working on 3d shapes, symmetry and time activities.
Just to remind you that.....
Library is on a Monday at 3pm with parents and Tuesday in class.
Children need to bring their reading books to school everyday.
PE is on a Friday.
