Letter to parents/carers- Home Learning during the school closure.

Welcome to the Class 3 page! We are a Year 1 class and our teachers are Mrs Shaw, Mrs Noble and Miss Melvin.

During the spring term we begin to study all of the foundation subjects. PE is usually on Wednesdays - please ensure children have their full PE kits with them and earrings are removed. Sometimes PE days can change so it is important that PE kits are left in school.
Children will need to bring a school bag every day to carry their reading book and letters. Please try to hear your child read every day where possible and send their book back to school the following day.
Children have been issued with log-ins and passwords for websites which will support their learning. These can be found in their homework books. We value your support with homework which reinforces previous learning.

This term our work includes:

  • English - Writing in sentences, story-telling/story writing, good and bad characters, patterned and predictable language stories, factual writing, descriptive language and inference.
  • SPAG - Spellings linked to phonics and high frequency words, joining words and clauses, capital letters and exclamation marks, correct letter formation and sizing.
