Welcome to Hadrian Primary School's Choir Page!
Here we will keep you updated about choir events and post photographs of the amazing things our children have been involved with this year.
Monday 10th December – 6pm at Harbour Lights
Thursday 13th December – 10.30am at The Word
Thursday 13th December - 1.45pm at Santander
Monday 17th December – Carols by Candlelight – 6pm at School
Thursday 20th December and Friday 21st December – 9.30am ASDA
On Sunday 9th December a group of children form the Hadrian School Choir were privileged to be invited along to the Mission to Seafarers to celebrate their annual Carol Service.
The choir were asked to sing a selection of songs which were intertwined beautifully with the narrative of the event. An address was given by Rev’d Bullock with readings from our own Chair of Governors, Jack Brown and the Mayor of South Shields. Monsignor Ronnie Brown gave the final blessing, and all were in fine voice whilst singing several traditional Christmas Carols.
The children were a credit to our school and sang wonderfully.
Well done to all involved!
We will be having two initial choir sessions after school on Wednesday 10th and Wednesday 17th October.
These sessions will run from 3.30-4.30pm.
Those children who initially expressed an interest in joining the choir are invited to come along and sing at an audition to enable us to select our first 20 singers.
We hope to make a significant impact with our choir over the next year, and would like to think that we can open up more places for additional singers next term.
Letters were given out to all children who expressed an interest on Friday 28th September. However should you have misplace the letter please find details below:
Hadrian School Choir 2018-2019
Thank you for expressing an interest in the Hadrian School Choir.
Due to the overwhelming response, I have taken the decision to audition children for the 20 available places. With over 40 initial responses, I feel this is the fairest approach to ensuring those who are passionate about singing are granted a place in choir rather than a random selection of 20 children
All children who expressed an interest will be invited to both Wednesday after school (3.30-4.30pm) sessions on 10th and 17th October during which time they will perform a short solo piece (2 verses and 1 chorus) from either of the following songs –
Annie – The Musical: Tomorrow
The Greatest Showman: A Million Dreams
The allocation of places in the choir will be discussed with Mr Richardson and myself and children informed in a sensitive manner by Friday 19th October.
This will all be conducted in a very informal way and should not cause any concern, distress or worry regards the audition.
I want to ensure full commitment from the choir and should capacity arise, be able to allocate more places next term.
Should you have any queries regards this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me in the first instance in school.
Mrs M Giles
Our choir will be singing Christmas songs on Thursday 13th December at 10.30am at The Word.
Why not begin your Festive celebrations with some fantastic singing!
Please come along and give us your support.
