Welcome to Class 5!

I am so excited for the year ahead and all of the wonderful learning we have in store!

Class 5 is a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class. Each morning, we will begin with a Sounds-Write phonic lesson, followed by an English and maths lesson. Our English and maths lessons will begin with retrieval questions which draw upon prior knowledge and support learning retention. In the afternoons, we will explore the Foundation subjects before ending each day with a story- Class 5 LOVE books!

PE

Our PE day is Tuesday. Children must have the correct footwear to take part in PE lessons and all earrings must be removed or covered.

Homework

Homework is given out on a Thursday and must be completed no later than the following Tuesday. All homework must be handed in through Google Classroom.

Reading Books

Children are asked to bring reading books into school every day. Children who bring in reading books every day, will have more opportunities to read in school and change their books. All reading records are online on the Boom Reader App. You will be given your login QR code and details in homework books.
