Hadrian Primary School

"An outstanding school where children make excellent progress" Ofsted

Be Unique;Believe, Achieve, Succeed Together

In Reception, we have implemented DT into our learning by creating purposeful activities relating to stories.

In the Autumn term we designed a new nest for the owls in 'Owl Babies' as mummy owl told class 2 that her nest had been destroyed by the bad weather. The children used different materials to create a nest and concluded that glue was the strongest at keeping the nest structure secure.

As part of our food technology, we have also made lovely sandwiches for the tiger from the story 'The Tiger who Came to Tea'. We used the knife to carefully spread butter and jam. The children carefully listened to the instructions given and followed them accurately.

We all ate the sandwiches at home time and talked about what we liked or did not like about the sandwiches we had made.
