Creating posters about Science and STEM careers

Learning about contact forces

Investigating friction and how it can slow objects down

Investigating how the roughness of a surface can affect the distance travelled

We learned about magnets and investigated which materials are magnetic

Investigating magnet strength

Exploring and discussing the everyday uses of magnets

Exploring liquids and gases

Experimenting with melting and freezing

Investigating evaporation and condensation

Learning about the Water Cycle

Learning about how sounds are made

Exploring with the musical instruments to see where the sound and vibrations are coming from

Researching how sea creatures use sound to communicate

We explored volume, how it is measured and which sounds are harmful to our ears for long periods of time.

We investigated how distance affects volume.

We learned about how high pitch sounds have high frequencies due to faster vibrations but low pitch sounds have lower frequencies due to slower vibrations.

Working in groups to classify vertebrates and invertebrates

Finding flowering and non-flowering plants

Using Classification keys

Discussing seasonal changes- how the seasons affect weather, plants and animals.

Working in pairs to identify human impacts on habitats such as plastic pollution

Learning about natural disasters that can affect habitats

Thinking about what plants need to grow healthy

Identifying the structures and functions of plants

TRANSPORTING WATER ENQUIRY- we have added blue food colouring to some water with celery and flowers to see if they change colour as the blue liquid is transported around the plant and vegetable.

Learning about the life cycle of flowering plants

Evaluating an enquiry- we discussed how we could improve our methods to make sure our results are as accurate as they can possibly be.

Looking at different forms of seed dispersal
